Tanya Holm is a local business owner who has made Sherwood Park her home for over thirty years. Born and raised in Montreal, she moved to Sherwood Park as a teenager. After living briefly in Edmonton, she came back to Sherwood Park to raise her family.
An entrepreneur at heart, Tanya has owned several businesses in the Sherwood Park area. For over fifteen years, Tanya and her husband Darwin have run a successful construction company building beautiful custom homes in and around the Strathcona County area. She is also a partner in a local food truck along with one of her sons, as well as some other small business ventures.
Tanya has been happily married to Darwin, for twenty-nine years. They have raised four wonderful sons together that she adores. While her sons were younger, she was a mom to several other boys as she opened her home to International Students from all over the world. It was important to her to expose her boys to a variety of different cultures while giving others the opportunity to discover Canada and our culture.
In 2017, she returned to the University of Alberta where she earned her Certificate in Residential Interiors with Distinction from the Faculty of Extension.
She has volunteered in various capacities while her children were in school, organizing fundraisers for their various sports teams, and serving on the Parent Council at their school. Most recently she was a Board Member and Vice Chair of the Strathcona Shelter Society which offers shelter to women and children fleeing domestic violence.
Tanya is dedicated to her community and is invested in making it a better place to live. She loves helping promote other small businesses. Her experience with managing and running her own small businesses has given her a unique perspective on how certain policies affect the average person and small business owner.
Tanya believes that in Strathcona County and Fort Saskatchewan that we need a Member of Parliament that fights for us rather than against us. This time is different; the stakes have never been higher. Tanya is approaching this campaign with the same passion, hope, and hard work that she has brought to all areas of her life. With our support, we can, and we will, ALL move forward, together.
